Tennis Ball Reuse Program

GSA has reused more than 2 million tennis balls around Japan. By sending used tennis balls to Primary and Junior high schools around the country, we are reducing noise levels and creating a better atmosphere to learn.

We are also helping hearing impaired children (hearing aids are sensitive to sudden loud noises) and we are teaching a valuable environmental lesson.

GSA's role in the program is to act as a coordinator, putting those in need to contact with those that want to donate. To minimize the environmental and fiscal costs of the program, sports clubs and groups wishing to donate send the tennis balls directly to the recipient schools, with GSA acting only as a coordinator.

The cost of transportation is covered by donations from program participants as well as sports clubs and organizations that are not getting directly involved but want to support the initiative.

Program participants receive a certificate signed by Global Sports Alliance (GSA) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in recognition of their contribution to the Ecoflag Movement
